Fantail is available to pre-order, allowing you to secure your unit early at a discounted introductory price before shipping of the product begins.

When will my Fantail ship?

Pre-orders are expected to begin shipping August 2026. If timelines change, we will keep all customers updated by email.

Can I cancel my pre-order or get a refund?

Yes. All pre-orders are fully refundable anytime before shipping begins. Please contact us via our Contact page, and we will initiate the process.

Is there a pre-order discount available?

Yes. Fantail is available at a special introductory presale price for a limited time. Pricing will increase as the shipping date gets closer.

Only those who pre-order will be offered a significant discount.

Do I have extra time to return Fantail if I pre-order?

Fantail can be enjoyed year-round, but we understand summer conditions present the real test. All pre-orders include a 6-month return period from the delivery date, so you can experience the full benefits.

How Fantail Works

How does Fantail work to keep me cool?

Fantail draws naturally cooler air from the lower part of your room and directs it into the microclimate around your body. That fresh airflow displaces warm, humid air trapped between your bedding and your body, cooling you down, improving sleep quality, and preventing sweating.

How it cools you:

  • Convective cooling: Flowing air carries excess body heat away from your skin.
  • Evaporative cooling: Continuous airflow speeds evaporation of moisture from the skin, reducing that sticky, overheated feeling.

Is Fantail an air conditioner?

Fantail does not use a compressor to cool the air like an AC unit. Instead, it enhances your body's natural cooling by moving fresh air across your skin and displacing hot, humid air.

Power & Performance

How much power does Fantail use?

Fantail is very efficient, using less than 7 watts at maximum airflow, similar to an LED light bulb, while maintianing powerful airflow at minimum noise thanks to its aerodynamic design.

It’s a cost effective alternative or compliment to air conditioning, significantly reducing your power bill.

Fantail's low power draw also allows extended use with power banks.

Can I adjust the airflow?

Yes. Fantail includes a wired bedside remote that lets you fine-tune airflow to your comfort level, including an Auto mode that adjusts output based on room conditions.

You can also control the fan from the phone app, which offers additional settings and remote access.

How quiet is Fantail?

Fantail has been carefully engineered to deliver strong airflow with minimal noise. It’s near silent on lower settings, and produces a gentle white noise fan sound at higher airflow levels.

Can I use Fantail with a power bank?

Yes. Fantail is USB-powered and can be used with a standard wall adapter or a Type-C power bank (3A output), ideal for camping, travel, or off-grid indoor use.

Estimated runtimes (approximate):

  • 5,000mAh power bank: ~16–18 hours (minimum flow) / ~4–5 hours (maximum flow)
  • 10,000mAh power bank: ~32–36 hours (minimum flow) / ~8–10 hours (maximum flow)
  • 20,000mAh power bank: ~64–72 hours (minimum flow) / ~17–20 hours (maximum flow)
  • 30,000mAh power bank: ~96–108 hours (minimum flow) / ~26–30 hours (maximum flow)

A certified Australian USB-C wall plug is included with every Fantail.

Is Fantail safe to use in my bed?

Safety is a priority for us. Fantail is fully tested by independent certified labs and meets all safety and compliance standards. There's no risk to users when used as intended

Fit, Setup & Compatibility

How is the Fantail made?

Fantail is designed and engineered in Australia with a strong focus on durability, safety, and sleep comfort. The final product uses high-quality injection moulded ABS and silicone for strength, consistency, and long-term reliability. Every unit receives final quality and safety inspections before shipping.

How do I position the Fantail?

Fantail is flexible and can be set up in a few different ways, depending on how you like to sleep:

  • At the end of the bed (most popular): Circulates air up your body for gentle cooling.
  • On the side of the bed: Angled up or down your body for more targeted cooling or to avoid airflow around your feet.
  • Angled higher toward your upper body or face: For refreshing cooling where you need it.

You can easily adjust the position and angle to find what feels best for you.

What is the silicone band for?

The silicone band serves three key purposes:

  1. Breakaway safety: If the fan is pulled or bumped, the band allows safe disconnection, preventing damage or injury.
  2. Top sheet management: Helps keep top sheets tucked securely while allowing your duvet or blanket to rest freely over the fan without blocking airflow.
  3. Inlet Filter Securing: Retains an optional hair and coarse dust filter on the inlet to the fan for those living with pets or in dusty environments (purchased separately).

How does the adjustable stand work?

Fantail includes a fully adjustable magnetic telescoping stand designed to fit most mattress types, from slim foam mattresses to thick pillow top beds up to 43cm (17 inches) deep.

Does the Fantail Bed Fan work with all beds/bedding?

Fantail works with all bedding combinations, including sheets, duvets, and blankets, delivering airflow without disturbing your bedding.

If you have a bed with a footboard that extends above the top of your mattress you can fit Fantail to the side of your bed.

How do I manage the wiring for a neat setup?

Fantail is designed to stay discreet. The cable can be routed underneath your mattress for a clean, clutter-free bedroom setup.

Is Fantail travel friendly?

Yes. Fantail is compact and lightweight (less than 1kg 2.2lbs and a bit larger than a tissue box), making it easy to pack in carry-on luggage or a small travel bag.

Shipping, Returns & Support

What is your return policy?

Once your Fantail arrives, you’ll have 60 days to return it if it’s not right for you. Customers cover return shipping costs.

What if my Fantail arrives faulty?

If your Fantail arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us via our Contact page and we will arrange a replacement or full refund as quickly as possible.

What Warranty is offered on Fantail?

Every Fantail comes with a 12-month warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery.

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian, New Zealand, and United States consumer protection laws, and does not limit those rights.

If you experience any issues, simply contact our support team with your order number and a brief description of the problem. We’ll help arrange a repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate.

What does the Fantail App do?

With the app, you can:

  • Activate Boost Mode with adjustable duration
  • Set automatic off timers
  • Enable Adaptive Comfort, which adjusts airflow based on room temperature and humidity
  • Fine-tune fan settings to suit your preferences
  • View live room temperature, humidity, and current fan speed

For nighttime convenience, Fantail also includes a physical remote with tactile controls, allowing you to adjust settings by feel — no phone, no bright screens, no disruption to your sleep.

Does the Fantail App have a subscription model?

Fantail does not require a subscription for its core features.

All features currently advertised will remain available with no ongoing fees — now and in the future.
