Our Story

Hi, we’re Nick and Kelsie. Originally from New Zealand, we moved to Sydney nearly ten years ago and quickly discovered one of the biggest challenges of Australian summers - restless, sweltering hot nights. Like many homes here, ours didn’t have air conditioning, and we soon realised we weren’t alone. Many of our friends and colleagues were also struggling to get a good night's sleep due to the heat.

We needed a solution - something more effective and targeted than a pedestal fan. That’s when Nick, an engineer, began experimenting with ways to keep cool while sleeping. Through countless tests and prototypes, he refined a design that worked: a fan that could be used directly in bed, delivering cooling air where it’s needed most.

After years of development, Fantail was born. An in-bed fan that’s energy-efficient, quiet, super quick to install and compact enough to blend in with your bed setup. Its lightweight design means you can pack it in a small bag, making it perfect for home and travel alike.

While we dream of large scale production of Fantail bed fans in the future, we understand that reaching this goal requires significant investment - upwards of six figures. For now, we’re producing high-quality 3D-printed models, which allow us to bring Fantail to you while building the backing needed to take the next step in our journey.

Fantail isn’t just a product; it’s our way of solving a problem we’ve lived through ourselves. We hope it brings you the comfort you need to enjoy cool, peaceful sleep, no matter how high the temperatures climb.

Thank you for being part of our story!
